Traumatic Dental Injuries Occurred in Primary Teeth and their Sequel Effects on the Developmental Permanent Successors: A Controlled Study

Objective:  To examine the types of traumatic dental injuries primary teeth (TDI-p) and long-term sequelae on permanent dentition (LSP) comparing with a control group (CG). In addition, questionnaire that measures parents' knowledge awareness was used .  Material Methods:  The trauma (TG) consisted following TDI-p exposed teeth, while CG unexposed same patients. total, 141 were evaluated in 27 Data concerning such as when occurred, treatments LSP collected. Chi-square test for intergroup comparison gender, type trauma, LSP, age parameters parental information questionnaire. Significance level p<0.05.  Results: A statistically significant difference found analysis between TG (p<0.001). The prevalence due to 29.6% 7.4%. most common enamel hypoplasia (14.8%). Parents aware importance TDI-p, they had insufficient about its management Conclusion:  TDI-p can be considered high-risk factor development LSP. Also, lack parents should supported by software-based application systems developed.
